2026 Spring Break Mission Trip — Czech Republic

Join missionaries Chelsea Irwin and Benjamin Helge in exploring the unique challenges and blessings that go hand in hand with missionary service. You will learn about and participate in all aspects of our work in the Czech Republic, as well as the life and work of various overseas missionary roles. Come and see how we spread the Gospel, plant Lutheran churches, and show mercy in Central Europe.

During the trip, you will have a chance to meet with a number of LCMS missionaries serving in a variety of roles in the Czech Republic and Eurasia. You will also learn about the history of the Reformation in Prague as well as the counter-reformation in Silesia. In addition to the big picture learning you’ll do, you will also have a chance to participate in the local ministry that our missionaries are doing- including helping local Czech students with their English, hosting after school events, and visiting Czech families in their homes.

This opportunity is tailor-made for college students to explore missionary service.

Tentative Schedule

• Day 1 – arrive to Prague, CZ / sightseeing / group dinner 
• Day 2 – attend Divine Service at St. Michael Lutheran Church / morning walk around Prague / afternoon Reformation tour in Prague / evening walk around the city 
• Day 3 – morning lectures with Rev. Martin Damašek / travel to Ostrava, CZ / group dinner with local missionaries
• Day 4 – teaching at local school in Havířov in the morning / lunch at school / after school programs / home visit dinner 
• Day 5 – teaching at local school in Havířov in the morning / lunch at school / after school program (English Talk Group)  
• Day 6 – morning trip to Suchdol to learn about Moravian Brethren, the Counter Reformation period, and the Lutheran church in the Silesian region / group lunch / visit to Český Těšín and tour of the Jesus Church / evening debrief 
• Day 7 – travel to Krakow, PL / group lunch / sightseeing in old town Krákow / visit the Castle / group dinner 
• Day 8 – depart for US 

Dates: February 28- March 7, 2026

Cost: $900/person (airfare not included)

Cost Includes: food, lodging, on-field transportation, coordination and international medical insurance.
