2025 Latin America Missionary Kid Program Team — St. Louis, MO

This year, Concordia Historical Institute is hosting an exhibit in honor of the 125th anniversary of Lutheran mission work in Latin America. Our Latin America mission team will celebrate this by gathering at the place where so much Lutheran history is preserved: St. Louis, Missouri. Many of our alliance missionaries will have the chance to visit St. Louis for the first time. And as always, there will be many missionary children present.

The goal for the kids’ program is twofold: having fun and nurturing their faith. You will help spread the Gospel by planning Christ-centered activities that keep Jesus at the forefront of the kids’ time together. Missionary families will return to their fields of service refreshed and ready to plant Lutheran churches as they engage in another year of the tasks to which the Lord of the harvest has called them. And you will show mercy by understanding and caring for the unique needs and emotions of third-culture “MKs” and helping them feel safe, comfortable, and valued.

Notes:

• This year we are seeking at least 4 Spanish speakers to join this team; Portuguese would be helpful, as well.
• This opportunity is particularly suited to members of LCMS congregations in the St. Louis-area.

Dates: August 4-9, 2025

Cost: $50/person

Tentative Schedule

• Monday: Arrival & greetings
• Tuesday: On-campus activities at Concordia Seminary + excursion for school-age kids; date night childcare
• Wednesday: Out of town field trip supervision support for parents
• Thursday: Activities at the LCMS International Center + excursion for school-age kids; local field trip supervision support for parents; evening movie night
• Friday: On-campus activities at Concordia Seminary + excursion for school-age kids
• Saturday: Departure & farewells
