Seminary Student Mission Education Experience — Dominican Republic

Seminary students are invited to explore the unique challenges and blessings that go hand in hand with career missionary service. This opportunity is designed to introduce you to all aspects of the Dominican Republic Lutheran Mission, as well as the life and work of various overseas missionary roles.

Potential experiences include:

  • Worship/Bible study in one or more local churches;
  • Accompanying church-planting pastors and local seminarians on home visits;
    Dinners in missionary host homes;
  • Shadowing missionary pastors, deaconesses, communications people, and business people;
  • Experience student life at Concordia the Reformer Seminary;
  • Participating in or leading activities in our Lutheran schools and/or local public schools;
  • Interacting with youth & adults with intellectual & developmental disabilities.

The ministries that are being highlighted are key strategies that the LCMS has chosen to use in the Dominican Republic. Throughout your time, you will have opportunities to discuss what you are seeing and learning with experienced career missionaries.

Spouses are also welcome to participate. Additional financial assistance is available if needed.
